CHÀO CÁC BẠN!

ABOUT US

In 1988, the Vietnamese Students Association (ViSA) began with only a few members. Today, we are a slightly larger, but still cozy, family of 60+ members. Behind these events is our board of 12 dedicated Yale students who seek to share their time, energy, and warmth with the rest of the community.

Each year, ViSA hosts several marquee events. Pho Night, our biggest event, brings in more than 100 people each year. Our annual cultural show showcases both the cultural aspects of Vietnam and the individual talents of our board members and community. We also host various speakers for dinners and talks related to Vietnamese identity and topics that relate to our community. Recently, this has included people such as Vietnamese journalist Andrew Lam and Vietnamese monks from Plum Village Sangha. In the future, we have events planned with Vietnamese writers such as Le Thi Diem Thuy and Ocean Vuong.

If you're looking for a great group of friends who all have experience with Vietnamese culture in some way, or if you're looking for a fun time, come to one of our many ViSA events. From the both of us, we invite you to come take a break, maybe cook a bit, love a little, and join our family.
